Creating Grade Columns

  1. In the Control Panel, expand the Grade Center section and click Full Grade Center.

  1. Click Create Column.

  1. Enter Column Name (this will be displayed to students); enter an optional Grade Center Name if desired (or leave blank if same as Column Name) and Description.
  2. Select a Primary Display option (how students will see their grade):
  • Score = numerical point value
  • Letter = letter grade based on grading schema
  • Text = alphanumeric grade
  • Percentage
  • Complete/Incomplete
  1. Select a Secondary Display option if you would like a different view of the score from your Grade Center (optional).  Select None to use the Primary Display.
  2. Select a Category (optional).
  3. Enter Points Possible.  Note: If this is an extra credit column, you may enter 0 as the points possible.  You may also associate a Rubric if desired (optional).

  1. Select a Due Date if you would like an alert to appear in the students' To Do module (optional).
  2. Select the Options you would like to apply to this column:
  • Include this Column in Grade Center Calculations: Select Yes to make the column available for potential inclusion when creating calculated columns.
  • Show this Column to Students: Select Yes to display the column to students in My Grades.
  • Show Statistics (average and median) for this Column to Students in My Grades: Select Yes to include statistical information with the grade value when shown to students.
  1. Click Submit.

Your new grade column will appear at the end of your grade center.
